A WiFi
miniSD card would be pretty fresh, right? Tons of new Windows Mobile-powered
Smartphones are ditching regular SD for href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?sourceid=Mozilla-search&q=minisd">miniSD,
which while saving plenty of space, also means that you can’t use any
of the WiFi or GPS SD expansion cards that are already out there. An image of
Spectec’s WiFi miniSD card is raising hopes that this sorry state of
affairs might be about to change, too bad it;s a total tease. All of the specs
and info on the page seem to refer to the regular WiFi SD card that’s pictured
just above it on Spectec;s website, and the more more we look at it, the more we
think that this is just a mockup they created and not an actual product
they’re getting ready to sell (the lack of an external antenna is a
big red flag). Not that they won’t figure it out sooner or
later.
